Why we tell the story behind every dish
Every Syrian dish has a story, and sometimes that story begins with its name.
The names of our dishes are often connected to the way they are made, the ingredients they contain, or the traditions surrounding them. Behind a simple name, there can be a little piece of history, a family memory, or a way of life.
Our grandmothers had a beautiful way of connecting food, stories and everyday life. Recipes were rarely written down. They were passed from one generation to another through conversations, shared meals and memories around the kitchen table.
That is why we want to share the stories behind our dishes. We want you to know not only what you are eating, but where it comes from and what it means.
Because Syrian food is not just about ingredients and recipes. It is about the people, memories and stories that have travelled with them through generations.
